What's Up Wednesday
As it were, I'm always looking for a fun blog linkup party! I just got back into the blogger world, and I'm so excited to be meeting some new blogger friends! These kinds of parties are a great way to get to know fellow bloggers, so if you're new around here please leave me your blog in the comments so I can visit you!
I'm just blown away that October is almost over... but yesterday as my daughter and I shopped in Hobby Lobby I realized just how excited I was for the holiday season!! I just love all things Christmas! I haven't decided when to put our Christmas decor up! I honestly just now got my fall things out and honestly wanted to get a few more things for fall... it seems like the retail seasons go by so fast though, so maybe we can visit some stores this weekend and pickup some fall goodies on sale haha! I thought about waiting until Thanksgiving but then another part of me wants to do it a bit earlier... we shall see!
So onto the party!
What we are Eating...
It's certainly chilly outside for Eastern North Carolina! We have loved soup and crock pot season so far. Yesterday was my daughter's 19th birthday so we had her favorite, Tomato Basil with three cheese tortellini. We are having Chicken and dumplings tonight. For the rest of the week we need to have a day with chili, and I am loving some cube steak with gravy! Lately its all about comfort foods.
What I'm reminiscing about....
Naturally with my little girl growing into adulthood I will always reminisce on her birthdays past. She told me this year was her favorite birthday, but she has said that every year her entire life. I did stop by the filling station and pick her up a beanie boo lol. I remember buying her first one for her 8th birthday when we were driving to Charlotte to visit the American Girl store. She's such a joy in my life, and as much as I miss her being that little girl, I'm so very proud of the young lady she's grown up to be!
What I'm loving..
My rekindled love for blogging! Meeting new friends here in the blog world and having a heart renewed for homemaking! I'm so ready to stay home a lot the next few days and just make home, declutter and plan for the holidays! All things home make my heart very, very happy!
What we have been up too...
I feel like I keep writing about our events again and again in my blogs, but October has been so wonderful, how can I not keep bragging about it! I also remember that these same blogs don't land in the same blog hop, so I'll do a quick overview again for those who don't follow on other linky parties :)
The first week in October we went to our first NFL game, I liked this So much more than I thought I would!
The second week of October we finished up our Upward flag football season, and my whole family participated in this..
My son coached his first pee wee team..
My daughter coached the cheerleaders
And my youngest played on the Majors team
The third week of the month our homeschool group hosted an appreciation lunch
for Pastors appreciation, and several of our area pastors visited! It was sweet!
And the NC State Fair was so fun!
Not to mention, my daughter won her first blue ribbon at the State Fair!
Last weekend we hosted a ladies brunch, then had Homecoming the following Sunday
I also appreciate and love my Pastor, who is also my husband, but that needs to be mentioned since October is Pastor Appreciation month!
And yesterday I had a wonderful time celebrating my beautiful girl's 19th birthday! I'm so proud of her!!!
What I'm Dreading...
Closing down the pool. I know, for sure we should have already had this done, but you see how busy our month has been! The rain is supposed to let up this weekend and we absolutely have to get this done so I can stop treating it and running the pump lol!
What I'm working on....
I have several blog ideas running around in my head! I'm excited to start working on it more intentionally when I have some freetime! I'm also ready to start a major declutter before Christmas, so I'm hoping to start that this week!
What I'm excited about...
The holiday season! Also, I'm excited about the Baptist State Convention next month, we always really enjoy it, and the NC Baptist Ministers wives breakfast is filled to capacity this year! I'm so excited to meet some new ladies and reconnect with some that I've met before!
What I'm watching/reading...
I'm reading Sisters of Fortune, it is a Titanic story and its been so good! I'm also slowly making my way through Irresistible by Adam Atler, its sooo good, but one of those you have to read slowly and soak it all in. It's about the addictive nature of technology and behavioral addictions. I've learned so much!
What I'm wearing...
Mostly jeans and sweaters! I LOVE that its sweater/cardigan season!
What I'm doing this weekend...
Our plan is to hopefully go do a little shopping Saturday, I wanna see what fall things are on sale at Hobby Lobby, pick up our annual Nutcracker, and pick up some orders that I did online in the Greenville mall. :)
What I'm looking forward to this month...
The State convention first off, Thanksgiving (we are traveling to the mountains this year!) and Christmas decorating!
What a fun linky party! I was excited to join you all today!

Congratulations on your State Fair wins! Nothing beats kids and animals (especially horses). My kids showed their horses, goats, rabbits, and poultry at the New Mexico State Fair for years. But what really took the cake was when my 9 year old son won a cooking contest for his apple sauce!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's almost November either. I hate to see winter coming, but I did some shopping on Monday and like you, I was excited to see some of the Christmas things.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter on her blue ribbon!
I often find my monthly wrap up posts to get a bit repetitive too but I can't seem to drop any of them. I've been enjoying crock pot season too!
ReplyDeleteA great reminder to check Hobby Lobby this weekend for fall decor that will be on sale!
